Dear Parents,

This letter is to inform you about the notification HUES received from the Department of Environmental Services regarding Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA).

We are required by law to annual notify you of our building’s status that no asbestos is present.

In 1989 the Hollis Upper Elementary School was inspected for asbestos and the building was cleared of friable and non-friable materials.  Based on the finding of the inspection HUES is not required to have a management plan for controlling exposure.  It has come to our attention that we were required to annually notify you from 1989 forward of this status.  Please accept our apology and from this date forward you will be notified annually.
